به­ منظور ارزیابی اثر تنش شوری روی فعالیت آنزیم سوپراکسید دیسموتاز، پروتئین ­های درگیر در سیستم فتوسنتزی و میزان سدیم و پتاسیم گیاهچه ­های لاین ذرت، آزمایشی در گلخانه به­ صورت فاکتوریل در قالب طرح کاملاً تصادفی در چهار تکرار انجام گرفت. فاکتور اول شامل دو لاین ذرت (B73 وMO17) و فاکتور دوم دو سطح شوری شامل صفر و 200 میلی­ مولار کلرید سدیم بودند. نتایج حاصل از تجزیه واریانس نشان داد که تنش شوری اثر معنی­ دار روی وزن خشک و میزان سدیم و پتاسیم گیاهچه­ های لاین ذرت داشت. تجزیه الکتروفورزی آنزیم سوپراکسید دیسموتاز نشان داد که سه ایزوفرم وجود داشت. تنش شوری باعث افزایش معنی­ دار فعالیت ایزوفرم­های آنزیم سوپراکسید دیسموتاز شد. نتایج حاصل از الکتروفورز دوبُعدی نشان داد که در لاین­ های ذرت تحت تنش شوری به ترتیب 10 و 2 لکه پروتئینی تکرارپذیر درگیر در سیستم فتوسنتزی برای B73  و MO17 شناسایی گردید. تنش شوری باعث افزایش بیان 12 لکه پروتئینی درگیر در فتوسنتزی لاین­ های ذرت شد. با توجه به نتایج به دست آمده و بررسی صفات مورفولوژیکی و بیوشیمیایی در دو لاین  B73 و MO17 پس از اعمال تنش شوری، لاین  MO17 دارای حساسیت نسبی بالایی نسبت به تنش شوری بود. نتایج حاصل نشان داد که لاین­ های ذرت از طریق افزایش فعالیت ایزوفرم ­های آنزیم سوپراکسید دیسموتاز و افزایش بیان پروتئین­ های درگیر در فتوسنتز و تنظیم سدیم و پتاسیم اثرات ناشی از تنش شوری را کنترل می­ کنند.
