    در تحقیقی تنوع ژنتیکی برخی از ژنوتیپ­ های توتون شرقی و تنباکو تحت شرایط نرمال (بدون تنش گل جالیز) و تنش گل جالیز طی سال­های زراعی 87-1386 و 88-1387 در مرکز تحقیقات توتون ارومیه در قالب طرح بلوک­های کامل تصادفی با سه تکرار بررسی شد. نتایج حاصل از تجزیه­ واریانس مرکب نشان داد که بین ژنوتیپ­ ها از لحاظ کلیه صفات مورد بررسی اختلاف آماری معنی­ دار وجود دارد که این امر حاکی از تنوع ژنتیکی بالا بین ژنوتیپ­ های مورد بررسی می­ باشد؛ بنابراین به طور بالقوه می­ توانند در برنامه­ های اصلاح توتون برای مقاومت به گل جالیز مورد استفاده قرار گیرند. براساس نتایج برآورد ضریب تغییرات ژنوتیپی، تنوع بالایی در بین صفات مورد مطالعه بخصوص از لحاظ صفات وزن تر و خشک برگ در شرایط نرمال و تنش گل جالیز مشاهده شد. بیشترین مقدار وراثت­پذیری، در هر دو شرایط نرمال و تنش گل جالیز در صفات تاریخ گلدهی، ارتفاع بوته و تعداد برگ مشاهده شد. بیشترین مقدار پیشرفت ژنتیکی برای صفات شاخص سطح برگ، وزن تر اندام هوایی گیاه، ارتفاع بوته و وزن تر برگ مشاهده شد. براساس نتایج ضرایب همبستگی ژنتیکی صفات، در هر دو شرایط نرمال و تنش گل جالیز همبستگی مثبت و معنی ­داری بین وزن خشک برگ با کلیه صفات مشاهده شد. با انجام تجزیه­ خوشه­ای، تحت شرایط نرمال و تنش گل جالیز ژنوتیپ­ های مورد بررسی در چهار گروه قرار گرفتند. در شرایط تنش گل جالیز، جدول رتبه­ بندی خوشه ­ها از نظر میانگین صفات نشان داد که گروه­های دوم و چهارم حاوی ژنوتیپ­ هایی هستند که براساس میانگین صفات نسبت به تنش گل جالیز به ترتیب مقاوم و حساس می­ باشند. لذا می ­توان با انتخاب والدین مناسب از این گروه­ها و تلاقی آنها، جهت تولید جمعیت ­های در حال تفرق در برنامه ­های به­ نژادی برای مقاومت به گل جالیز و ایجاد تغییرات مطلوب در وزن خشک برگ ژنوتیپ­ های مورد بررسی اقدام نمود. نتایج حاصل از تجزیه خوشه­ ای توسط تجزیه تابع ­تشخیص مورد تایید قرار گرفت. از طرفی با انجام تجزیه به مولفه ­های اصلی در هر دو شرایط مورد بررسی، دو مولفه شناسایی شد که 75 و 73 درصد از واریانس کل صفات را به ترتیب در شرایط نرمال و تنش گل جالیز توجیه می­نمودند. با توجه به نتایج تجزیه خوشه ­ای در شرایط تنش گل جالیز، از ژنوتیپ­ های قرار گرفته در گروه دوم می­ توان برای کشت در مناطق آلوده به گل جالیز استفاده نمود.
