به­ منظور بررسی روابط بین صفات زراعی و مورفولوژیکی موثر بر عملکرد گندم، دو ژنوتیپ گندم والدی Gasspard و لاین DN11 به همراه نسل‌های حاصل از تلاقی این دو والد (F1، F2، خانواده ­های F3، BC1 و BC2) در قالب طرح آزمایشی بلوک­های کامل تصادفی در سه تکرار در دو شرایط نرمال و تنش کمبود آب انتهای فصل و دو سال زراعی متوالی در مزرعه پژوهشی پژوهشکده کشاورزی هسته‌ای کرج مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. تجزیه رگرسیون گام به گام نشان داد که صفت عملکرد کاه اولین صفتی بود که وارد مدل شد و به تنهایی به ترتیب 46 و 65 درصد از تغییرات عملکرد دانه تک بوته را در شرایط نرمال و تنش کمبود آب توجیه نمود، پس از این صفت در شرایط نرمال صفات تعداد دانه در سنبله، وزن 100 دانه، تعداد پنجه و تعداد سنبله بیشترین تأثیر را در عملکرد دانه داشت و در مجموع حدود 78­% از کل تغییرات عملکرد دانه تک بوته را توجیه نمودند. در شرایط تنش نیز صفات تعداد دانه در سنبله، تعداد سنبله، وزن 100 دانه و تعداد روز تا رسیدگی فیزیولوژیک 92 درصد از تغییرات عملکرد دانه تک بوته را توجیه کردند. نتایج تجزیه علیت نشان داد که در شرایط نرمال صفات وزن 100 دانه، تعداد دانه در سنبله، تعداد پنجه، عملکرد کاه و تعداد سنبله و در شرایط تنش کمبود آب انتهای فصل صفات تعداد سنبله، تعداد دانه در سنبله، وزن 100 دانه و عملکرد کاه به ترتیب بیشترین اثر مستقیم را بر روی عملکرد دانه تک بوته داشتند.
