خشکی یکی از مهم­ترین عوامل محدودکننده محیطی در کشاورزی جهان می­باشد. بهره­برداری از پتانسیل عملکرد گیاهان زراعی و افزایش پایداری عملکرد آنها در مناطق خشک و مستعد به خشکی می­تواند تضمینی برای تغذیه جمعیت روز افزون مردم جهان باشد. به همین منظور برای ارزیابی تحمل به خشکی آخر فصل و شناسایی ژنوتیپ­های متحمل با استفاده از شاخص‌­های تحمل به تنش، 21 ژنوتیپ جو در قالب طرح بلوک­های کامل تصادفی با 3 تکرار در 2 محیط بدون تنش و تنش در سال زراعی 94-1393 در مزرعه تحقیقاتی دانشکده کشاورزی دانشگاه تهران واقع در کرج مطالعه شدند. برای اعمال تنش، آبیاری در مرحله پدیدار شدن ریشک­ها (کد 50 زادوکس) قطع گردید. عملکرد ژنوتیپ­ها در شرایط بدون تنش (Yp) و تنش (Ys)اندازه­گیری و تجزیه واریانس بر روی داده­ها انجام شد. شاخص­های MP، GMP، STI و HARM که بیشترین همبستگی معنی‌­دار را با عملکرد در شرایط بدون تنش و تنش داشتند، به­عنوان شاخص­‌های برتر برای غربال ژنوتیپ­‌های متحمل معرفی شدند. نتایج تجزیه به مؤلفه­های اصلی و ترسیم نمودار بای‌پلات نشان داد که ژنوتیپ­های Rihan03، Yousef و Fajre30 به ترتیب دارای
بیشترین تحمل به خشکی، ژنوتیپ­های
Rihan و Morocco-9-75 (رقم شاهد حساس) دارای کمترین تحمل به خشکی و لاین D10 دارای بیشترین عملکرد در محیط بدون تنش و نسبتاً متحمل بود. تجزیه خوشه­‌ای براساس شاخص­‌های MP، GMP، HARM، STI، TOL و SSI و عملکرد در شرایط تنش و بدون تنش، ژنوتیپ‌­های مورد بررسی را به 6 گروه تقسیم کرد. اکثر ژنوتیپ‌­های متحمل به خشکی با عملکرد بالا که اختلاف عملکرد آنها در شرایط بدون تنش و تنش نیز نسبت به سایر ژنوتیپ­ها کمتر بود، در گروه ششم، پنجم و چهارم و ژنوتیپ‌­های حساس به خشکی در گروه اول و سوم قرار گرفتند. بر اساس نتایج بدست آمده ژنوتیپ­های Rihan03، Yousef و Fajre30 متحمل به تنش خشکی آخر فصل، ژنوتیپ­های Nik، Kavir، Inc73 و Inc79 نسبتاً متحمل به خشکی و ژنوتیپ­های Rihan، Morocco-9-75، Sahra  و Inc82 حساس شناخته شدند. لاین D10 نیز به دلیل عملکرد بسیار خوب در شرایط بدون تنش و متوسط در شرایط تنش احتمالاً پتانسیل تبدیل به رقم تجاری مناسب را دارد.
