این پژوهش به‌منظور بررسی و تعیین طیف بیماری‌زایی/غیربیماریزایی ژن‌های پنج نژاد بیماری زنگ زرد گندم جمع‌آوری‌شده از مناطق کرج (174E158A+)، زرقان (103E16A+, Yr27)، ساری (6E150A+)، سرخس (247E235A+,Yr27) و مغان (77E78A+) انجام شده است. برای تعیین نژاد بیماری زنگ زرد گندم  از ژنوتیپ­های استاندارد و افتراقی بین‌المللی استفاده گردید. سپس واکنش 297 ژنوتیپ مختلف گندم نان نسبت به این نژاد‌ها در قالب طرح کاملاً تصادفی با دو تکرار تحت شرایط گلخانه و با دمای 15 درجه سانتی‌گراد مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. در بررسی همبستگی بین نژادهای مختلف مشخص شد که نژادهای ساری (6E150A+) و کرج (174E158A+) دارای بیشترین همبستگی هستند. همچنین تجزیه واریانس ساده برای سه صفت تیپ آلودگی، اندازه جوش و تراکم جوش تنوع ژنتیکی بالایی را بین ژنوتیپ­های موردمطالعه نشان داد. تجزیه واریانس مرکب  نشان‌دهنده اثر معنی‌دار ژنوتیپ، نژاد و اثرمتقابل ژنوتیپ و نژاد برای صفت تیپ آلودگی بود. برای صفات اندازه جوش و تراکم جوش نیز اثر ژنوتیپ و نژاد معنی‌دار بودند. نتایج تجزیه همبستگی صفات در نژادهای مختلف نشان­دهنده همبستگی معنی‌دار و مثبت بین آن‌ها بود.  تجزیه خوشه‌ای ژنوتیپ­ها را به سه گروه مقاوم، نیمه مقاوم (نیمه حساس) و حساس تفکیک نمود که تائیدکننده نتایج واکنش‌های مقاومت ژنوتیپ‌های گندم به نژادهای مختلف زنگ زرد بود. براساس تجزیه خوشه­ای ژنوتیپ­های شماره­ 6، 36، 39 و 44 دارای پایین ­ترین میزان تیپ آلودگی (مقاومت بالاتر) نسبت به هر پنج نژاد بیماری زنگ زرد گروهبندی شدند. نتایج تجزیه خوشه ­ای نیز نشان­دهنده وجود ارقام تجاری PARSI، KARAJ2، CHAMRAN2، PANJAMO62، MAHDAVI، PISHGAM، INIA66 و RIJAW در گروه گندم ­های مقاوم بود که می­ توان با استفاده از تجزیه شجره­ای به والد دهنده مقاومت به این بیماری دست یافت.
