تنش­ های غیرزیستی از مهم­ترین عوامل محدودکننده عملکرد گیاهان زراعی محسوب می­ شوند. تحلیل داده­ های زیستی به واسطه علم بیوانفورماتیک، نقش مهمی در بررسی ژن­ها، ارتباطات و نیز پیشگویی کارکرد آن­ها در پاسخ به تنش­ های غیرزیستی دارد. پروتئین­ های دارای دُمین ARID-PHD در گیاهان و جانوران شناسایی شده و نقش بسیار مهمی در تنظیم رشد، چرخه سلولی و بیان ژن­های اختصاصی هر بافت دارند. در این تحقیق، توالی مربوط به ناحیه محافظت شده دُمین ARID در پایگاه ­های اطلاعاتی مختلف همچون NCBI در برابر توالی­ های ثبت شده برای گیاهان مختلف جستجو و در نتیجه آن 10 پروتئین گیاهی حاوی دُمین ARID-PHD یافت شد. گیاهان شامل آرابیدوپسیس، آجیلوپس، براکیپودیوم، سویا، برنج وحشی، برنج ژاپونیکا، ارزن دم روباهی، سورگوم، ذرت و آلوروپوس بود. هم ردیف­ سازی توالی­ ها، رسم درخت فیلوژنتیکی، بررسی ویژگی­ های پروتئینی و الگوی بیان نسبی ژن ARID در گیاه شوری­زی آلوروپوس انجام گرفت. نتایج نشان داد که علاوه بر شباهت توالی­ های اسید آمینه، پروتئین­ ها نیز به دو گروه گیاهان تک لپه و دو لپه تقسیم شدند. بررسی ساختار و ویژگی پروتئین­ ها بیانگر درجه حفاظت بالای پروتئین در گیاهان مختلف بود. بررسی میزان بیان ژن در گیاه آلوروپوس نشان داد که حداکثر تعداد رونوشت­ های ژن در اندام هوایی گیاه بوده و این افزایش معنی­ دار  بعد از 6 ساعت از اعمال تنش شوری در حداکثر مقدار بوده و تا 24 ساعت بعد از تنش نیز کاهش معنی­ داری نشان نداد که بیانگر نقش احتمالی این پروتئین در تحمل گیاه به تنش می­ باشد. در بافت ریشه گیاه، میزان بیان ژن نسبت به تیمار شاهد کاهش یافت. به طور کلی، این مطالعه اولین گزارش در مورد بررسی ویژگی توالی پروتئینی و تغییرات بیان ژن ARID در گیاه هالوفیت آلوروپوس در شرایط تنش بوده و می ­تواند به عنوان گام ابتدایی در استفاده از این خانواده ژنی به منظور اصلاح و دست­ورزی گیاهان در جهت تحمل به تنش­ های غیرزیستی به ویژه شوری باشد.
