برنج یکی از مهم­ترین محصول غذایی است، لذا شناخت صفات موثر بر تولید و عملکرد آن می­ تواند در برنامه­ های اصلاحی کاربرد داشته باشد. به ­منظور تعیین شاخص­ های مناسب برای انتخاب ژنوتیپ برتر، بذر 15 ژنوتیپ برنج که شامل 5 رقم والدینی به نام­ های بی نام، دشت، ندا، دم سیاه مشهد و IR62871-175-1-10  10 هیبرید که حاصل از یک تلاقی دای­ آلل 5 × 5 بود مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. آزمایش در قالب طرح بلوک­ های کامل تصادفی در سه تکرار در سال 1395 در مزرعه تحقیقاتی دانشگاه گنبد کاووس اجرا گردید. در این تحقیق دوازده صفت شامل، ارتفاع بوته، طول و عرض برگ پرچم، طول خوشه، تعداد دانه پر و پوک، تعداد روز تا 50 درصد گلدهی، وزن هزار دانه، تعداد پنجه موثر، وزن خوشه، تعداد سنبلچه در خوشه و عملکرد ارزیابی شدند. عملکرد دانه با صفات عرض برگ پرچم، تعداد دانه پر و وزن خوشه همبستگی مثبت و معنی­ دار داشته در حالی­که با صفت طول برگ پرچم همبستگی منفی و معنی ­داری را نشان داد. نتایج رگرسیون گام ­به ­گام با ضریب تبیین 69 درصد نشان داد که وزن خوشه و عرض برگ پرچم مهم­ترین جزء عملکرد می ­باشند. تجزیه علیت نشان داد که تعداد دانه پر  خوشه (27/1=I) بیشترین تأثیر مثبت مستقیم را بر عملکرد بذر دارا بود، در حالیکه وزن خوشه (81/0- =I) بیشترین تاثیر مستقیم منفی را نشان داد ولی این صفت از طریق تعداد دانه پر بیشترین تاثیر غیرمستقیم را بر عملکرد داشته است. ماتریس فاصله اقلیدسی با الگوریتم UPGMA ژنوتیپ­ های برنج را به سه گروه دسته ­بندی نمود. همچنین ضریب کوفنتیک (86/0) بیانگر همبستگی زیاد ماتریس تشابه و ماتریس حاصل از دندروگرام می‌باشد. در مجموع در ﺑﯿﻦ ﺧﺼﻮﺻﯿﺎت مورد بررسی، ﺻﻔﺎﺗﯽ ﻧﻈﯿﺮ عرض برگ پرچم، تعداد دانه پر و وزن خوشه می­ توانند ﺷﺎﺧﺺﻫﺎی ﻣﻬمی ﺑﺮای ﮔزینش ژنوتیپ­ هایی ﺑﺎ ﻋﻤﻠﮑﺮد ﺑﺎﻻ می ­باشند.
