      به منظور درک واکنش ژنوتیپ‌های سویا به تنش شوری، 30 ژنوتیپ سویا در قالب دو طرح مجزا برای تیمار نرمال (شاهد، شوری صفر) و تیمار شوری (150 میلی مولار کلرید سدیم )  در محیط کشت هیدروپونیک حاوی محلول غذایی هوگلند در گلخانه با سه تکرار ارزیابی شدند. صفات مورد بررسی در این تحقیق عبارت بودند از سطح برگ، ارتفاع اندام هوایی و طول ریشه، وزن تر و خشک اندام هوایی و ریشه، میزان کلروفیل(SPAD value)، شاخص صدمه شوری (Salt injury index) ، میزان سدیم و پتاسیم در اندام هوایی و ریشه، نسبت پتاسیم به سدیم اندام هوایی و ریشه ، و نسبت جابجایی سدیم و پتاسیم از ریشه به اندام هوایی. تجزیه واریانس ساده صفات و همچنین تجزیه مرکب داده‌های صفات ژنوتیپ‌ها نشان داد که ژنوتیپ‌های مورد بررسی از نظر کلیه صفات مورد بررسی در مرحله گیاهچه اختلاف معنی‌داری با یکدیگر داشتند، همچنین اثر متقابل بین ژنوتیپ و محیط برای اکثر صفات معنی‌دار بود که نشان‌دهنده واکنش متفاوت ژنوتیپ‌ها به افزایش شوری بود. بجز صفات شاخص صدمه شوری، میزان سدیم و پتاسیم در اندام هوایی، میزان سدیم در ریشه، میزان جابجایی سدیم و پتاسیم از ریشه به اندام هوایی برای سایر صفات مورد بررسی در شرایط تنش مقادیر اندازه گیری شده صفات نسبت به شرایط نرمال کاهش نشان دادند. بر اساس نتایج حاصل از بررسی پارامترهای آماری در بین ژنوتیپ‌های مورد بررسی بیشترین مقدار ضریب تنوع فنوتیپی مربوط به سطح برگ در شرایط تنش (55/3)، وزن تر ریشه در شرایط تنش (45/28)، وزن خشک ریشه در شرایط تنش (26/42) و شاخص صدمه شوری در شرایط تنش (37/99) بودند.  کمترین ضریب تنوع فنوتیپی مربوط به طول ریشه در شرایط نرمال (11/7) و محتوای کلروفیل در شرایط نرمال (13/3) بودند. بررسی پایداری ژنوتیپ‌های مورد بررسی نشان داد که ژنوتیپ‌هایی مانند Lee، SG13، Vernal، Will، Winchester، Douglas، LYON، Century  84، Strong، L.87-0174  و Crawford از جمله ژنوتیپ‌هایی هستند که از آنها می‌توان به عنوان والدین در بلوک‌های دورگ‌گیری به منظور بهبود تحمل به شوری ارقام جدید استفاده نمود.
