سیب­ زمینی به عنوان یک محصول استراتژیک در تامین امنیت غذایی کشور شناخته شده و چهارمین محصول پرمصرف غذایی مردم ایران است. این گیاه به دلیل دارا بودن سیستم ریشه ­ایی کم عمق، حساس به تنش خشکی است. ارزیابی تحمل به خشکی 20 ژنوتیپ سیب­ زمینی در موسسه تحقیقات اصلاح و تهیه نهال و بذر واقع در کرج در سال 1397 انجام شد. آزمایش به صورت کرت ­های نواری بر پایه طرح بلوک کاملاً تصادفی با سه تکرار و تحت دو تیمار (تنش کم آبیاری و شاهد) انجام شد. نتایج نشان داد که اثر ساده تیمار ژنوتیپ بر تمامی صفات مورد مطالعه شامل عملکرد کل، عملکرد خوراکی ( اندازه غده بزرگتر از 55 میلی­ متر)، عملکرد بذری (اندازه غده بین 35-55 میلی­ متر)، عملکرد قابل فروش (مجموع عملکرد خوراکی و بذری) و عملکرد غیرقابل فروش (اندازه غده کوچکتر از 35 میلی­ متر) در سطح احتمال %1 معنی­ دار بودند. در این آزمایش، 11 شاخص تحمل به تنش شامل شاخص تحمل به خشکی (STI)، میانگین هندسی بهره ­وری (GMP)، میانگین شاخص عملکرد (MP)، میانگین هارمونیک (HM)، شاخص حساسیت به تنش (SSI)، شاخص تحمل (TOL)، شاخص پاسخ به خشکی (DRI)، شاخص تحمل نسبی (RDI)، شاخص تحمل به تنش غیر زیستی (ATI) و درصد شاخص حساسیت به تنش (SSPI) محاسبه شد. همچنین عملکرد غده تحت تنش (Ys) و شرایط نرمال (Yp) برآورد گردید.  نتایج حاصل از تجزیه مولفه اصلی و تجزیه خوشه ­ایی نشان داد که ژنوتیپ­ های متحمل  و حساس در تنش خشکی با الگوی مشابهی در یک گروه قرار گرفتند. نتایج نشان داد که همبستگی بالا و معنی­ داری بین MP، Yp و Ys وجود دارد. در بین ژنوتیپ­ ها و ارقام مورد بررسی ژنوتیپ­ های 902027 و 1-8703 بالاترین میزان  MPو GMP را داشتند که نشان­دهنده تحمل بالای ژنوتیپ­ ها در پاسخ به تنش کم آبیاری بوده است.
