   در مطالعه مراحل فنولوژی گیاهان زراعی، اندازه ­گیری درجه روز-رشد (GDD) به ­عنوان شاخصی جایگزین برای شمارش روزهای تقویم مطرح می­ باشد. در تحقیق حاضر تنوع ژنتیکی 86 رقم زراعی و 184 توده بومی گندم ایرانی بر اساس مراحل فنولوژیکی (روز تا آبستنی، روز تا گلدهی، روز تا رسیدگی و GDD این مراحل) در کنار دوره پرشدن دانه، وزن هزار دانه و عملکرد دانه طی سال‌های زراعی 93-92 و 94-93 در قالب طرح آگمنت با 3 رقم شاهد (آذر، نوید و پیشتاز) در 6 بلوک ناقص در مزرعه تحقیقاتی گروه زراعت و اصلاح نباتات دانشگاه تهران مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. نتایج نشان داد که از نظر این صفات اختلاف قابل ملاحظه­ ای بین ارقام زراعی و توده ­های بومی گندم وجود دارد، به­ طوری که ارقام زراعی عملکرد بیشتر و طول دوره پرشدن دانه کمتری در مقایسه با توده‌های بومی داشتند. از طرف دیگر نتایج حاکی از آن بود که ژنوتیپ­ ها با عادت رشدی مختلف از نظر اکثر صفات فنولوژیکی دارای تفاوت معنی­ داری می­ باشند و می­ توانند در انتخاب و معرفی ارقام جدید به ­صورت مستقیم یا غیرمستقیم گزینش برای افزایش طول دوره پرشدن دانه در کنار افزایش عملکرد دانه مؤثر باشند. از آنجایی که تنوع صفات فنولوژیکی در توده‌های بومی بیشتر بود، بنابراین توده‌های بومی می‌توانند منبع ارزشمندی در راستای انتخاب برای بهبود این صفات نیز باشند. در نهایت با توجه به اهمیت مراحل فنولوژیکی و شاخص GDD توصیه می­ گردد این صفات نیز به اندازه عملکرد و اجزای عملکرد جهت حصول نتایج دقیق­ تر مورد توجه قرار گیرند.
